Why Socialism doesn’t work

Why Socialism doesn’t work

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before but had once failed an entire class.

That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism. All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.

The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D!  No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that.

Adopting Socialism

The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.

Going, going, gone!

Selfish?

Dear Barack,

Yes, it’s socialism,  not “sharing.”  You choosing to share your toys or your sandwich when you were a kid is not in any way, shape, or form, what you want to do to us.  Had your teacher gone to your desk and taken half your sandwich without asking you and handed it to the kid she wanted to have it, probably wouldn’t have gone over with you very well.  Nor should it, because that’s socialism.  YOU don’t have the right to dictate to me who I share any of my personal belongings with.  That’s MY choice.  I have the right to choose who I want to share with.  That’s sharing.  You choosing for me, is socialism

Socialism = anti-progress

Why IS socialism such a bad thing?  I’ve had a few conversations in the last few weeks and the people to whom I was talking expressed similar ideas, that socialism was progress, that allowing government to control certain aspects of our lives and money was a good thing.  They thought Obama’s plan for government run healthcare was a plus, they liked his speeches on “progress” and “change” and “hope.”  They believed war, all war, is bad.  One could only realize by listening to them that had they lived around 1776, we’d still be British citizens.

Socialism, and its brother Communism, are bad things.  Free people know this, and the post over on American Thinker says it extremely well.  Click the link below to read the article in full.

The Repugnance of Socialism

“No fully-grown human being with a single ounce of self-respect ever wants to be taken care of by others.  No person with dignity will tolerate being told what to do, what to think, how to work or how to be an "acceptable" person.  No free man or woman will tolerate the loss of liberty in exchange for material comfort.

Many generations of Americans vehemently rejected these notions over and over again, not out of fear, but out of the kind of visceral loathing that makes a normal person wretch, gag and grab for his religion and his guns.”
